The Best BBQ Baked Beans EVER
I can promise you that these are the easiest BBQ Baked Beans that you’ll make and your family + friends will LOVE them! They will become your go to item to bring to family gatherings/parties! Yes, they come from a can. BUT I am going to show you how to transform them into the most delicious, savory BBQ Baked Beans in just a few simple steps … You can also watch my Jazz Cans series on YouTube where I show you how to transform canned goods into delicious eats! It all starts with my BBQ Baked Beans!
The key to transforming canned goods is to drain them from the canning liquid. I also like to do all my cooking in the same pot. I cook the bacon in the same pot that I end up making the beans in. I use some of the bacon grease to sauté the green bell peppers and garlic. It all really helps to flavor the beans and diminish the canned flavor.
Once the beans are fully drained I add them into the pot with some of my favorite BBQ sauce. Look how saucy and delicious!
I love keeping green onions stocked in my garden to add a flavorful garnish. These beans taste great topped with fresh chopped green onion.
Don’t forget to add the crispy bacon bits back into the beans! Find the list of ingredients and exact steps below!
BBQ Baked Beans
Ingredients
One 28oz can of Baked Beans (Your Favorite Brand)
1 Green Bell Pepper Diced
2-3 Garlic Cloves Minced
One 16oz package of Bacon
1 1/4 cup BBQ Sauce (Your Favorite Brand)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Serves 6-8
Cook Time About 25 Minutes
Directions
Step 1: Start by opening up the can of baked beans and draining them with a strainer. Be sure to let all the canning liquid drain from the beans.
Step 2: While the beans are draining, in a large pot over medium heat cut your bacon into bite sized pieces and cook down until crisp.
Step 3: While the bacon is cooking + the beans are draining, dice the green bell pepper and garlic.
Step 4: Once the bacon is finished cooking, remove it from the pot and place onto a paper towel. Drain most of the grease in the pot. Leave about 1-2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pot.
Step 5: Place the pot on medium low heat and add the diced green bell pepper and minced garlic. Stir and add in the salt and pepper. Cook until the bell pepper is slightly softened.
Step 6: Add the drained beans into the bell pepper + garlic. Stir.
Step 7: Add in the BBQ sauce and stir.
Step 8: Add in the bacon, stir and cook for about ten minutes or until piping hot through out. Serve, top with chopped green onions and enjoy!
